34 to 40 Commercial Street, Gobbinland Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, BB5 3JL. Albert Dean used to live at No. 40 (the one on the left) and when Accrington Stanley collapsed in 1963, Albert tried talking me into supporting Burnley. Neil Berry, who lived round the corner on Roe Greave Road, tried telling me I should support Blackburn Rovers. What really did it though was when Len Whittaker for over the West End took me to a Rovers match in his Morris Minor, Rovers won and it was a great day. That was it – I was a Rovers fan! How lucky I chose the right team!
