2-10 Commercial St Ossy

View of 2 to 10 Commercial Street, Gobbinland Oswaldtwistle, Accrington, BB5 3JL taken from the end of Havelock Street. You can see the shop window of No. 8 which used to be a selling out shop in the 50s and 60s when I was there. I can’t remember who owned it but they also sold toffees so it was my very favourite shop, a real special place where I got treated on a Saturday night. When I got into my teens, my Grandma had come to live with us and I’d bring her a bottle of OBJ in a brown paper bag. As I was tall I got away with getting drinks for my mates as well when I was about 14 or 15. My Grandma, by the way, had one bottle of stout a night all her life and lived till she was 93.
